Just organizing my thoughts on INCEPTION

Familiar? It’s the LA DWP Headquarters in Downtown. It’s also that building in Cobb and Mal’s Limbo world that keeps on appearing, except in the movie, they made it a lot taller.
I gotta write down what I think to organize my thoughts… I re-watched Inception, this time on IMAX with my roomie. And… got me thinking more… mostly about the plot, so go away if you haven’t seen it! But this is just mostly for me to organize my own thoughts.
The Architect creates the world, and teaches the Dreamer to dream it. That’s why the Architect doesn’t HAVE to go on these dream trips (since Cobb wasn’t even planning on bringing Juno along). So the Dreamer dreams, and its filled with the people’s subconcious. Ok that made me confused. I’m still trying to figure that out.
So near the end of the movie, in the snow level, Fischer dies.
This means that Fischer is supposed to go into Limbo. But, somehow he ends up on the fourth level where Mal kidnaps him. This fourth level is Cobb’s mind - to follow Fischer, Juno and Cobb go into Cobb’s mind. This level is NOT Limbo, even though it looks like it. RIGHT?
That’s why Juno and Fischer were able to “jump” off for the kick in this level. In Limbo, killing themselves would send them back into reality. And going to Limbo makes you lose track of everything.
So Mal dies in this level - but she’s a projection so nothing happens and she doesn’t go into Limbo. But Cobb gets stabbed - they don’t show him dying, but I think he dies on this fourth level in his mind, and THAT’s why he washes up ashore AGAIN in true Limbo. And since he shared the subconscious with Saito and he is in Limbo, the Limbo combines both Cobb and Saito.
From there, Saito aged like 40 years and his mind is lost. So is Cobb - he is lost. But Saito reminds them of the conversation they keep on having about being old, dying with regrets, etc. But this is also what Mal says. Connection? Dunno.
And so the movie essentially ends there - we don’t know if they killed themselves in Limbo and went back. Or if it is still all a dream.
And Cobb’s totem, the top. That’s not his - it’s Mals. And Saito also plays with it. What does this mean? Isn’t a totem supposed to be sacred. What was his real totem? Not seeing his children’s faces?
And why haven’t the children aged at the very end? Where’s the French grandma? And why does Phillipa sound like a teenager on the phone in the beginning, but only a child at the end.
So at first I thought the end was reality - the top was gonna fall over.
But now, after thinking a little bit about it, I think it’s a dream. Which makes me kind of sad. Haha.
Anyways - rewatching it let me see all the LA scenes again! And made me wanna play Sim City. Seriously, the city they built is exactly like what I would build in Sim City!
